Secured loans also known as second-charge loans or home-owner loans are only available to home owners.

In these days of so called ‘Mortgage Prisoners’, where mortgagors are locked into existing lenders and existing fixed, discounted and interest only products, but face extreme difficulty in obtaining finance from the same existing lender, a second mortgage is a clear option where there is sufficient equity in the property and the customer will find the new loan affordable and understands that their property is at risk in the same way as is the case with their first mortgage.

We can refer you to a third party provider for secured loan services. We only work with secured loan providers who meet our strict requirements, and specialise in secured loans.

These loans are secured on your home

This means that a legal charge will be put on your home, in a similar way that your mortgage company has a charge on your home. A ‘charge on your home’ means that if the worst comes to the worst and you can’t pay your mortgage or homeowner loan, a bank can repossess your home.
